A Buffalo Grove man is facing several drug-related charges after police searched his home Thursday and found “small amounts of illegal narcotics” and “a large sum of money,” Buffalo Grove police said in a news release.

Henry Hashemi, 18, of the 1500 block of Anderson Lane, Buffalo Grove, was charged with manufacturing and delivering between 10 and 30 grams of cannabis, possession of a fake Illinois driver’s license and possession of instruments and materials used to produce cannabis products, according to release police issued Tuesday.

Following many calls for service, anonymous complaints and surveillance, police presented evidence to a Lake County judge and obtained a search warrant, officials said. They served the warrant and searched his home Thursday.

In addition to the drugs, police found $1,490, according to Lake County court records.

“Without the eyes and ears of our residents we would otherwise be unable to conduct these types of investigations,” police Chief Steven Casstevens said in the release . “Once armed with information, our officers conducted a thorough investigation which ultimately results in a safer neighborhood for our community.”

Hashemi was the only person in the home at the time of the search, police said. He was taken into custody “without incident.”

Hashemi appeared in court in Lake County where bond was set at $20,000. He is currently out on bail, according to officials. He is scheduled to appear in court again March 3.
