restaurant (720 N. State St.) took Chicago by storm last year, is preparing to open Tales of Carlos Gaytan, the restaurant-within-a-restaurant that will feature a set, multi-course menu for exactly 12 diners at once.As a teaser to Tales’ imminent (but as yet unannounced) opening, Gaytan will present two such dinners — consisting of an 11-course tasting menu — dubbed “Tales of Carlos Gaytan: Prologue” at 7 p.m. Feb. 7 and 8.
Gaytan will be joined in the kitchen by Jonatan Gomez Luna Torres of Le Chique and executive chef Orlando Trejo of Ha, both restaurants located along Mexico’s Riviera Maya. (Gaytan helped launch Ha in 2017.)
Cost of the dinner is $225, plus $80 for beverage pairings. Reservations are available on Tock, but with only 24 total reservations, you’ll have better luck when Tales of Carlos Gaytan opens officially. That announcement is expected soon.
