A bevy of Chevys worth $1 million was trapped inside a Corvette-filled building flattened by a deadly explosion in Houston on Friday, according to a local report.
Gordon Andrus, the owner of a car business, told KTRK-TV, “We restore old Corvettes, and it’s full of what used to be really nice cars.”
The early morning shock at Watson Grinding and Manufacturing in northwest Houston killed two, according to authorities.
Andrus’ building across the street from the blast was empty of people at the time of the explosion, and he said he was glad his facility was spared any injuries, the local ABC affiliate reported.

The blast damaged multiple nearby homes and sent a fiery ball soaring into the air. Locals were told to avoid inhaling the smoke-filled air.
Authorities launched a criminal investigation into the incident, but they said they didn’t believe anyone intentionally caused the explosion.
