A 21-year-old New York man wanted on a no-bond warrant for several charges, including criminal possession of a firearm, has been arrested and is being held in the Lake County jail, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Eduardo Gutierrez, 21, of the first block of 4th Street in New Rochelle, N.Y., had been hiding in a residence in the 500 block of Oak Street, Waukegan, the sheriff’s office said. Gutierrez was arrested without incident Thursday by the Lake County Sheriff’s Warrant Team and members of the U.S. Marshals Service – Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, according to a sheriff’s office statement.

Gutierrez was wanted on a felony warrant for criminal possession of a firearm, bail jumping and second degree conspiracy, drug sales, authorities said. The sheriff’s warrant team got information earlier this month from the U.S. Marshals task force that Gutierrez might be hiding in the Waukegan area and they were able to determine he was staying at a residence on Oak Street, according to the statement.

The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office approved additional charges against Gutierrez of possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, aggravated unlawful use or possession of a weapon and fugitive from justice after he was found in possession of a semi-automatic pistol with an obliterated serial number and ammunition, according to officials.

His next court date is Jan. 22.
