Wilmette police and the FBI are investigating a Wednesday morning bank robbery in the village.

Police were alerted around 9:30 a.m. to a report of a bank robbery at the Bank of America branch at 171 Green Bay Road. A man entered the bank, demanded money and then jumped the teller counter, Wilmette Police Cmdr. Michael Robinson said.

He then grabbed about $500 cash from the bank teller’s drawer and fled the bank on foot, police said.

No weapon was displayed and there were no injuries, Robinson said.

The suspect was captured on surveillance video during the robbery, police said.

Anyone with information regarding the bank robbery or the suspect is asked to contact the Wilmette Police Department at (847) 256-1200 or the Chicago Federal Bureau of Investigation office at (312) 421-6700.
