Actor Stan Kirsch, who played Richie Ryan in more than a hundred episodes of the original “Highlander” TV series, died by suicide over the weekend, officials said.

He was found hanged in his Los Angeles residence on Saturday, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner said.

The New York native was 51 years old.

“I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support. I haven’t been able to respond to all the texts, calls, emails — but have read or listened to every single one of them. I feel surrounded by love and am forever grateful to each and every one of you,” wife Kristyn Green said in a Facebook post.

“I just heard some devastating news — Stan Kirsch has died. In total shock!,” co-star Peter Wingfield, who played Adam Pierson on “Highlander,” said in a Twitter post late Monday.

“Just…can’t…believe it,” he tweeted

“It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Stan Kirsch,” read a message on the official “Highlander” Facebook page.

“Without Stan Kirsch, ‘Highlander: The Series’ would have been far less. He brought a sense of humor, kindness and youthful enthusiasm to the character of Richie Ryan for six seasons,” the post said.

Kirsch started acting at a young age, appearing in a Campbell’s Soup commercial when he was only 4, according to IMDB.com.

He landed guest appearances on popular TV shows including “General Hospital,” “Friends” and “JAG” and later became an accomplished acting coach with his own studio.
