There were some tense moments Saturday morning at a West Side police station when a man armed with two guns pointed one at police, causing a chaotic scene.

It happened about 8 a.m. at the 11th District station, 3151 W. Harrison St., when a 27-year-old man walked in and approached the desk, said Officer Jessica Alvarez, a police spokeswoman.

“While voicing his disdain for law enforcement,” he displayed a gun and pointed it at officers, who then drew their guns, according to Alvarez.

No shots were fired, but during a brief scuffle the suspect bit one officer. That officer was listed in good condition at an area hospital, and charges were pending, Alvarez said.

Area North detectives are investigating.
