A search warrant at a Zion home Wednesday morning turned up more than 60 grams of heroin after a month-long police investigation.

Andrew Q. Kaywon-Thomas, 37, of the 2800 block of Galilee Avenue, was being held in the Lake County jail and was being scheduled for a bond hearing, according to a statement from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

The Lake County Sheriff Office’s Special Investigations Group and investigators with the Zion Police Department conducted a narcotics investigation that led to a search warrant for a home in the 2800 block of Galilee Avenue where police found the heroin, according to the statement.

The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office approved charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of a controlled substance against Kaywon-Thomas, according to the statement.
