A woman identified as Georgia intern Chamberlain Smith was knocked out cold when Georgia running back Brian Herrien ran out of bounds and plowed her over right before halftime in the Bulldogs’ matchup against Auburn. Somehow, CBS commentator Gary Danielson found the situation amusing, repeatedly yukking it up as she was knocked out cold. The CBS production was odd as well, zooming in close on her as she was stretchered off.
Danielson later tried to blame Smith for her injuries.
According to her website, Smith graduated from Georgia in 2018. Georgia’s journalism school later confirmed that Smith was “communicative” and “moving her arms and legs.” She was released from the hospital around 9 p.m. Eastern on Saturday evening, according to Georgia
