During a 2018 game against the Brewers, the Cubs pitcher slipped while attempting to extend a double into a triple. Verlander took to Twitter to blame Darvish for giving pitchers a bad reputation for being unathletic.
Darvish waited until Game 2 of the 2019 World Series to use Verlander’s own words against him after the Astros pitcher slipped while trying to make a play on a swinging bunt.
