A 31-year-old woman was shot and killed early Sunday morning in Dolton, according to officials.
Angelka Smith of Chicago,was found at about 1 a.m. at 144th Place and South King Drive and was pronounced dead a short time later, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
“This is an isolated case,” said Dolton Mayor Riley Rogers. “This shooting was domestic-related. It appears that the victim was targeted. There is no immediate threat to the community from this latest incident.”
He said police are still investigating.
An autopsy was scheduled Sunday afternoon.

The shooting comes the day after the funeral for Marshia McGill Bowman.
The 40-year-old mother from Dolton was shot and killed last month in Dolton on Sibley Boulevard while picking up her children from daycare about 7 p.m.
Bowman was apparently caught in a crossfire and was not the intended target, officials said.
