A five-vehicle crash in Grayslake sent two people to the hospital Tuesday afternoon, according to village fire officials.

The crash occurred at about 3:30 p.m. on Route 137 at Atkinson Road, according to Grayslake Fire Department Battalion Chief Joris Lillge.

Lillge said preliminary reports show that a dump truck rear-ended an SUV in the northbound lanes of Route 137 at Atkinson, starting a chain-reaction crash that involved four SUVs that were in front of the truck, Lillge said.
