“The largest gathering of Bears ever” just got a little smaller.
Brian Urlacher tweeted Friday that he will not attend this weekend’s Bears100 convention celebration: “Unfortunately I won’t be able to attend the Bears100. … Something I ate must have got the best of me.”
Speaking of unfortunately, he also included a vomit and a poop emoji in his tweet.
Urlacher was expected to participate in Friday night’s opening ceremony.
On Saturday he was also scheduled to appear on a panel with fellow Hall of Fame linebackers Dick Butkus and Mike Singletary. That was one of the weekend’s most anticipated events.
“To have the three Hall of Fame middle linebackers together sharing the stage and telling stories, that’s awesome,” Scott Hagel, Bears senior vice president for marketing and communications, said last week when asked what panels he was most looking forward to.
No word yet on who, if anyone, will replace Urlacher on that panel.
Urlacher, however, will not be completely absent. His Hall of Fame bust, along with the other 27 Bears’ busts, will be on display at the convention in Rosemont.
