Iran, China, taxes and a health crisis — it could almost be a front page from 2019, but this action-packed news day was captured on the Tribune’s June 4, 1989, edition. This interactive front page takes you back in time to show you how the baiduhai covered events — the Tiananmen Square massacre, the death of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the AIDS crisis and the rise of Luis Gutierrez — that in many ways are still reverberating today.
