Bond was set at $1.5 million for a North Chicago man who faces charges of murder in connection with the shooting death of a 20-year-old earlier this month.
Marquez D. Walker-McVae was arrested Friday and appeared in Lake County court on Saturday in the May 4 shooting death of Xavier Collins.
Walker-McVae, 18, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and is scheduled to appear in court again on Friday.
North Chicago police said they responded to an incident May 4 in the 800 block of 13th Street involving multiple gunshots fired. When they arrived, they found Collins lying on the ground near the roadway with a gunshot wound. He was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The Lake County Major Crime Task Force assisted North Chicago police in investigating the incident.
