Stanley Krzak, wearing burnt-orange colored sweatpants and a bright red hooded sweatshirt appeared before Judge John Fitzgerald Lyke Jr., who denied bail during a hearing at the Leighton Criminal Court Building.
Krzak, of the 5400 block of North Broadway, was charged with two counts of armed robbery, police said.
Krzak brandished a gun when he walked into a convenience store shortly after midnight Sunday in the 1000 block of West Bryn Mawr Avenue and demanded money from a clerk.
The second robbery happened Monday about 9 p.m. at a Pizza Hut in the 5300 block of North Broadway, one block from his home. Krzak pulled a gun and announced a robbery before fleeing the scene with $187, police and prosecutors said.
In both cases he fled with cash, but police picked him up Thursday after he was identified as the robber.
Krzak has a prior felony conviction for an aggravated domestic battery case from 2017, said Police News Affairs Officer Michael Carroll.
