Q: Where did you grow up and go to school?
A: I grew up in River Grove. I’m now a senior at East Leyden High School.
Q: What activities are you involved in at Leyden?
A: I’m on the swim team.
Q: How long have you been on the swim team?
A: I’ve been on the team since my sophomore year.
Q: What do you like about being on the swim team?
A: I like that it gave me an opportunity to make new friends. I like staying busy. I like improving my swim time. It’s a good stress reliever, too.
Q: How do you like your senior year so far?
A: So far, I really like it. I feel like I have more responsibilities that make me feel like I’m becoming an adult. I feel more independent. I drive to school, and I can leave earlier.
Q: Where do you work?
A: I work at Goldfish Swim School in Elmhurst. I teach kids how to swim.
Q: Did you start swimming at Leyden?
A: Yes. I had a pool growing up, so I always liked swimming. I was self-taught.
Q: Where do you plan on going to college?
A: I’m going to Triton College for the first two years.
Q: Why did you decide to go to Triton?
A: It’s better financially, and it would give me more time to think about what I want to do. I’m thinking of studying psychology or sociology.
Q: What do you want to do after college?
