The crash occurred about 1:15 at the intersection of Summit and Preston Avenue, police said. Summit was closed from Hiawatha Drive to Liberty Street to allow for the police investigation and for ComEd to replace the pole, which was snapped by collision.
The pickup truck driver was not injured, police spokesperson Kristi Hilton said. No one in the area lost power because of the incident, ComEd said.
No information on what caused the crash was available.
