Pride Films and Plays announced the Chicago premiere of Harvey Fierstein’s “Casa Valentina,” playing next summer. The director and cast will be set at a later date.

Based on real events, “Casa Valentina” is set in 1962, at an inconspicuous bungalow colony in the Catskill Mountains. Its unique clientele: heterosexual men who find refuge in dressing and acting as women. Given the opportunity to share their secret lives with the world, the members of this sorority must decide whether the freedom of visibility outweighs the risk of personal ruin.

The production will run July 16 — Aug 11 at the Pride Arts Center – the Broadway, 4139 N. Broadway, Chicago.
