At least the weather won’t be scary for trick-or-treaters this Halloween evening.
Temperatures in the Chicago area are expected to remain in the 50s during prime trick-or-treating hours this evening, according to Todd Kluber, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. The sun will set at 5:47 p.m. in Chicago, at 5:50 p.m. in Aurora and at 5:46 p.m. in Waukegan.
There’ll be mostly cloudy skies but no rain, the weather service said.
The normal high temperature for the day is 56 degrees, Kluber said. “The forecast, at least for today, looks pretty standard for late October,” Kluber said.
Last year, the high temperature was 40 degrees for Halloween.
Temperatures through the weekend are expected to be a bit cooler, slightly dipping to the low 50s, Kluber said. On Thursday, temperatures will range from 53 to 43 degrees with a chance of rain at night.
