In summer 2019, Virgil Abloh is coming home to the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago with an immersive solo show entitled “Figures of Speech.” The MCA announced on Tuesday that tickets for timed viewings of the exhibition will go sale Nov. 1 at 10 a.m.

Raised outside of Chicago by parents who emigrated from Ghana, Abloh pursued a master’s degree in architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology and connected with a then-emerging Kanye West. Abloh had a hand in the art direction and merchandising in a number of musical projects before kicking off his own fashion brand, Off-White. He is now the Creative Director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear collection. The show will chronicle a full sampling of the artist’s interdisciplinary work, travelling nationally and internationally after its run in Chicago.

Organized by MCA Chief Curator Michael Darling, the curation will run June 10 to Sept. 22, 2019. Advanced tickets will be available online only at www.mcachicago.org

for $15. Anyone 18 and under is free. The museum will remain open on Mondays during the run.
