Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Miracles for Mollie and Madelyn Ronaldson will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 15 at Wilson Creek Elementary School, 25440 S. Gougar Road, Manhattan.

The event is a “Dance-off for Sandhoff” that will include six introductory dance lessons led by choreographers from The Dance Company, featuring country, hip-hop, Latin, line, swing and fortnite. There will be a silent auction and raffles, and concessions will be sold.

Two years ago, Mollie and Madelyn, ages 8 and 11, were diagnosed with a neuro-degenerative disease known as Juvenile Sandoff, which is life-limiting.

The fundraiser is part of the Annual Day of Hope for the National Tay-Sachs and Allied Diseases Association, to raise funds for research to lead to an effective treatment for these rare diseases. A potential treatment is ready for clinical trial, and if funding can be secured, the trial can be started.

According to the association’s website, there is no treatment or cure for Juvenile Sandhoff, which is marked by a progressive loss of ambulatory skills, followed by respiratory health issues and seizures.

Participants are asked to raise or pledge $25 per person.
