Whether they were looking for produce, baked goods, jewelry or artworks, visitors to the Wilmette French Market were apt to find what they wanted when they browsed through roughly 40 vendor tents Saturday.

The market has operated in Wilmette for 15 years, first opening in 2003, said Leslie Cahill, general manager for the Chicago area Parisian styled markets operated by Bensidoun USA.

“It’s definitely been a long time,” she said.

The market features produce from one Illinois farm and three Michigan farms, Cahill said, as well as goods from a number of bakeries, a Chicago-based coffee roaster and purveyors of goods including meats, cheese, fish, linens, women’s accessories and works by local artists. The market generally also features live music in some fashion, she said.

Good weather and great music drew a large crowd this Saturday, said site manager Rob Johnson.

Wilmette’s French Market operates from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays through Nov. 10 in the downtown Metra parking lot, 722 Green Bay Road.
