Jasmyne Shoals, of the 7800 block of South Peoria Street, was pronounced dead at University of Chicago Medical Center on Thursday at 9:22 p.m. after she was shot early Wednesday morning on the South Side.
Shoals was driving two other people when they stopped to talk with a male in the 7300 block of South Union Avenue in the Englewood neighborhood. She drove away when she had a feeling they were about to be robbed, police said.
The male fired at her, hitting her in the head, police said.
An autopsy Saturday determined Shoals died of a gunshot wound to the head and her death was ruled a homicide, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
