Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Chicago has become home to so many craft breweries that it can be hard to keep track of them all. Dusek’s can help with that, at least a bit.

For the next few weeks, the Pilsen bar will host an event series that can help you become better acquainted with the city’s suds, called “Meet the Makers.” Even more appetizing: guests will be able to sample limited and newly released beers from the host brewery.

Each session runs from 6 to 8 p.m. and will feature a different Chicago beer-maker visiting and speaking about their craft and brewing processes. The event is billed as a “meet-and-greet” with opportunities for guests to ask questions and learn from experts.

And the events are also free. Making reservations is a good idea for that reason, although they are not required. Reservations can be made on the Dusek’s website, and be sure to note the “Meet the Makers” class as part of your request.

The first event was Aug. 7 and featured “alchemist” Randy Mosher from Forbidden Root, plus samples of the brewery’s New England-style pale ale Small Talk.

The remaining schedule, including dates, brewers and beers, is below, per a press release.

Aug. 9: Hopewell – Jonathan Fritz (co-founder)

Saison Royale — blend of saison and cider

Aug. 17: Whiner Beer Company – Brian Taylor (owner / head brewer)

Bon! Bon! Bon! Release – Barrel-aged wild wheat ale with strawberries

Aug. 20: Solemn Oath – David Kerns (head brewer)

Young Turks – New England-style IPA

Aug. 21: Pipeworks – John Dunne (brewmaster) and Scott Coffman (part owner / brewer)
