The Will County sheriff’s investigation division is searching for four suspects in a home invasion in Monee Township, officials said.

The four were identified after detectives traced the homeowner’s stolen vehicle to Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood.

About 6 a.m. Monday, an elderly female resident left her bedroom after hearing someone trying to open the front door in 25000 block of S. 80th Avenue and encountered a male subject with a hood over his head, who pointed a gun at her, saying “Give us your money and phones,” according to the sheriff’s office.

The woman’s elderly husband was still asleep at the time.

As she handed over some cash, a wallet, one wireless phone, and her cell phone, she also observed three other male subjects enter her home and go into other areas of the house, the sheriff’s department reported in a news release.

The subject told her to go into her bedroom and stay there.

The couple was not injured in the incident, police said.

As they left the home, the offenders stole the couple’s 2009 Ford Edge SUV, the sheriff’s office said.

The woman waited a few minutes and called the police with a phone that was not taken by the offenders, police said.

Deputies used cell phone GPS in an effort to locate the offenders, and working with Chicago Police Department, they found the stolen vehicle an hour later in the 7100 block of Paulina.

In addition to finding that vehicle, Chicago Police and Will County detectives found two other vehicles that had been stolen recently from Crete and Chicago. All three vehicles were parked on the street in that neighborhood, police said.
