A man carjacked in a Brighton Park garage early Friday morning escaped by bailing out of the car on the Dan Ryan Expressway, according to Chicago police.
While the 32-year-old man was driving into his garage in a white Acura MDX about 1:15 a.m. in the 2700 block of West 38th Place, two men with handguns came into the garage and pulled him out of the car, police said.
They took “personal property” from the man, but when he said he didn’t have any money with him, they made him get in the passenger seat of his car and told him to take them to someone who would be able to give them money, police said.
As one of the carjackers drove on the Dan Ryan expressway, the man jumped out of the car, police said. He was unhurt, and Illinois State Police found him on the expressway.
The car has not been found.
