A thief on a Divvy bike swiped a purse from a woman in the Loop early Friday, then crashed and ran away, police said.
The rider biked up to the 35-year-old woman who was walking south in the 700 block of South State Street with three of her friends just before 12:25 a.m., police said.
The rider grabbed her purse but then crashed into one of the friends. The woman who lost the purse “briefly struggled” with him. She started to chase him as he ran away, but lost sight of him.
