On Friday, AstonRep Theatre Company announced its 2018-19 Season, under new co-artistic directors Derek Bertelsen and Sara Pavlak McGuire.
Starting things off in the fall will be “The Lonesome West” by Martin McDonagh (Oct. 18 – Nov.18). Directed by company member Dana Anderson, the show follows two volatile brothers living alone in their late father’s house when a local young priest intervenes. The production will be held at the Raven Theatre, 6157 N. Clark St.
On December 1, the company will stage the 10th Annual Writer’s Series at the Vagabond School of the Arts, 4001 N. Ravenswood Ave. The festival will host regional writers and their near-finished plays and works in development, offering talk-back sessions and workshops.
The final show of the season will be “The Crowd You’re in With” by Rebecca Gilman (May 16 – June 16, 2019). With Derek Bertelsen directing, the story takes place at a backyard barbeque, where a group of friends must answer life’s big questions. The production will also take place at the Raven Theatre.
