Cedar Lake man killed on U.S. 41 in St. John

A Cedar Lake man was struck and killed by a vehicle early Tuesday, according to police.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. Robert Sulzberger, 37, was hit by a vehicle traveling northbound in the 8900 block of Wicker Avenue, police said.

Due to the severity of severity of Sulzberger’s injuries police requested the assistance of the Lake County Accident Reconstruction Team to conduct the investigation and document the scene.

The Lake County Coroner’s office said Sulzberger, who was a pedestrian, suffered blunt force trauma injuries.
