Two construction workers were taken to the hospital after something fell on them late Monday morning in the Palmer Square neighborhood, a Fire Department spokesman said.
Something fell onto the workers around 11:18 a.m. at 3051 W. Lyndale St., said Larry Merritt, a spokesman for the Chicago Fire Department. The workers were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
Permits for the address detail a residential brick building with three stories, a basement and rooftop deck is being built at the location where the workers were injured, said Bill McCaffrey a spokesman for the city Buildings Department.
Department inspectors have visited the site previously, but none were called out to the location Monday, McCaffery said.
