First in the lineup will be Edward Albee’s “The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?,” directed by co-artistic director James Yost (Sept. 7–Oct. 7). The show follows Martin, an accomplished architect with a wife, a son and hotshot career. But, when a revelation unearths Martin’s ultimate transgressions, his American Dream shatters.
The second show of the season will be guest director Abhi Shrestha’s Chicago premiere of “I Call My Brothers,” which follows an Arab-Swedish man as he eludes suspicion after a car bomb explodes in Stockholm (Jan. 5-Feb. 2, 2019).
Co-artistic director Georgette Verdin will direct the final show of the season, Emily Schwend’s “Utility” (April 5–May 4, 2019). The production is an intimate portrait of an East Texas woman, Amber, as she struggles to make ends meet.
In fall 2018, Interrobang will also host a special run of Nassim Soleimanpour’s acclaimed solo show “White Rabbit Red Rabbit. A press release describes the show, “One actor. No rehearsal. A different show every week.” These performances will take place at the Den Theatre, 1331 N. Milwaukee Ave, on Monday nights from Sept. 24 through Nov. 12.
