A three-year-old girl has died from drowning in her family’s swimming pool at their home in LaSalle, about 100 miles southwest of Chicago.
Zoey Doran was pronounced dead shortly after 2:30 p.m. Friday, about two days after paramedics were called to the home in the 2100 block of Rockwell Road, according to a news release from Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood.
When medics got to the home about 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, the girl’s parents were performing CPR on her, according to the coroner. They took the girl to Illinois Valley Community Hospital, and she was transferred to St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, where she later died.
The coroner determined her cause of death was drowning with no foul play suspected and said her body will not undergo an autopsy.
