Two people were taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge in critical condition following two unrelated crashes in Elgin, police said.
In the first incident, a 33-year-old Elgin motorcyclist traveling eastbound on West Highland Avenue near Stonehaven Drive crossed lanes and went down an embankment about 10:35 p.m. Monday, Elgin police said in a news release. He was initially taken to Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin and later flown to Lutheran General.
The second crash occurred about 4 a.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of North McLean Boulevard when a man lost control of his vehicle, causing it to roll and strike a tree, the release said.
Both the driver and his female passenger were taken to Presence St. Joseph Hospital, with the 24-year-old Elgin woman later moved to Lutheran General with critical injuries. The driver, of Alsip, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
