On Monday, Griffin Theatre Company announced casting for the Chicago premiere of “The Harvest,” a drama by Samuel D. Hunter that follows a group of religious neophytes as they plan a mission trip.
Directed by Jonathan Berry, the production will wrap up the company’s thirtieth season. It will feature Kathryn Acosta, Patrick Blashill, Taylor Del Vecchio, Raphael Diaz, Paloma Nozicka, Collin Quinn Rice and Kiayla Ryan.
‘The Harvest’ unfolds in the basement of an evangelical church in Idaho, where a crew of fresh-faced missionaries prepare to leave for the Middle East. When one of the young men has a spiritual crisis, the group must face the complications of their faith.
The show runs July 21 through August 25 at The Den Theatre (2B), 1331 N Milwaukee Ave.
