Eleven people were taken to area hospitals after a vehicle crash on the border between Chicago and south suburban Calumet Park on Tuesday afternoon, city officials said.
Preliminary information suggested one of the vehicles involved in the crash near 122nd Street and Ashland Avenue about 4 p.m. may have been a city bus, but CTA officials said no CTA bus line runs in the area. None of those taken to hospitals were critically injured, a Fire Department spokesman said. Seven who were taken to the hospital were initially in good to fair condition, the spokesman said, and the other four who were transported were in fair to serious condition.
Some of the injured might have been on a school bus, the Chicago Police Department said, though it was not immediately known whether students were on the bus.
