A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash in the Edgebrook neighborhood on the Northwest Side Thursday evening, according to Chicago police.
The 22-year-old man was riding west in the 5100 block of West Devon Avenue at about 7:45 p.m. when a small black car hit him from behind, police said. Witnesses said the man, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from his motorcycle and hit a tree, according to police. He suffered massive trauma and was pronounced dead at Lutheran General Hospital, police said.

The driver of the car fled the scene, police said.
