Tiger Woods sounds more determined than ever to bring the Jackson Park/South Shore golf plan to fruition.

Woods, the lead designer on the project, says in a video that the plan to create a premier public golf course in Chicago is “as good as it gets,” and he calls Chicago “one of the greatest sporting towns — ever. And as a golf town, probably the best.”

Project organizer and NBC Sports/Golf Channel analyst Mark Rolfing interviewed Woods for the video, which aired this week during a Chicago Sports Commission panel.

The project has been stalled by political, financial and logistical challenges, but its advocates believe it ultimately will gain approval given the heft of its supporters: former President Barack Obama, Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Woods, still the game’s most influential player.
