Elgin’s blighted neighborhoods
Fences are needed in many areas, but some wooden fences take away beauty. They look like a stockade. They cause blight in our neighborhood. Also, windows are covered with rags. We have lived in our home for over 60 years and raised three children. We never parked our cars in front of our neighbors’ houses. It was called respect. Now people walk a block and park their cars every day in front of your house. Houses used to be homes, now they are boarding houses. There is no need for streets to be parking lots. Those who make the rules should wake up. Why are people leaving Elgin? Guess.
No logic for gas prices
Here we go again with gasoline prices going up 20 to 30 cents a day. No one seems to care or give us a logical, truthful explanation about this crazy deal.

Here we have a president abusing his power and abusing the Oval Office because he knows he and his administration and his campaign have done wrong. He knows they have colluded with the Russians. He knows it is getting close. He knows these devils in Congress are enabling him. Unfortunately, he is probably going to get away with this. You people out here flying the American flags and waiving hats that say Make America Great Again are trampling over what America stands for and so it this president. It is terrible what is happening in our country, and it needs to go away fast.
Anti-Trump gold mine
Is there any place around here that sells anti-Trump paraphernalia posters or stickers? This is a gold mine waiting to be mined.
Fox good news source
Like many of us, I watch the evening news, both the local and national. When 7 p.m. rolls around, I change it to Fox. What a difference. If I wasn’t watching Fox, I wouldn’t know anything of what is going on. The news is so concerned with telling anti-Trump stories that they forget what the top news stories are. Someone called Speak Out and said Fox News lies and Trump is an idiot. If Trump is a liar, what was his predecessor? Fox News is not wrong. If it is wrong, why is Fox News number one? When I go to bed at night, I am sure glad it’s Trump looking after us and not Obama.
Bigger issue than gun ownership
There was another shooting, this one near Galveston, Texas. Of course, we are going to hear everyone say take away the guns. The fact of the matter is there is something more going on here than guns. We went to the Kane County police academy. We were given case information about a young fellow age 16 who brutally, brutally beat a 57-year-old woman and then raped her after death. There has to be something going on with these kids. I think it may have to do with social media or bullying. I do blame computers and social media. This bullying doesn’t go away, and it gets to be widespread. We have seen stabbings. It is not about the guns. There is something going on here mentally.
