A man was found with a single gunshot wound to his head Thursday morning outside a Buffalo Grove business where he had made suicidal statements to co-workers, police said.

The man, who is in his 20s, was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center, according to Buffalo Grove police Officer Matthew Mills. The man’s condition was not known.

Mills said the man made the comments to his co-workers about 8 a.m. at a building in the 1200 block of Barclay Boulevard. He left the building, and the workers soon heard a gunshot. When they went outside, they found the man lying in a grassy area and wounded, Mills said.

Police recovered a handgun at the scene.

Mills said there was no evidence that anyone else had been threatened.
