On Thursday, Boho Theatre named Stephen Schellhardt its new artistic director, with a tenure that begins with the company’s 2018-19 season.
Schellhardt has been an artistic associate with the company since 2015. His productions with Boho include “Dogfight,” “Urinetown” and BoHo’s ongoing cabaret series at Stage 773. He is also a faculty member at Northwestern.
He assumes the position from Peter Marston Sullivan, who has been in the role since 2010 and will remain with Boho as the new artistic associate. At the top of Schellhardt’s to-do list will be finding a new permanent space for the company.
“Boho is a family,” he said in a press release, “and it would be fantastic to establish a landing place where actors and creative artists can return and continue their relationship with us for years to come.”
