A Northwestern University student is being treated for injuries he sustained after falling from the fourth floor of a fraternity house Monday afternoon, university officials said.
The incident occurred about 12:45 p.m. at the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity house, 2313 N. Sheridan Road, in Evanston, and the student, a sophomore, was taken to Evanston Hospital, university spokesman Alan Cubbage said.
The student was alone at the time, and there did not appear to be any indication of a party or that alcohol was a factor, Cubbage said. He did not have information on the student’s condition.
Evanston police Cmdr. Ryan Glew said the department is investigating and officers are expected to learn more about the circumstances leading up to the incident once they interview the student, but Glew said they have not yet had the chance to talk to him.
Glew said investigators have found nothing to suggest foul play.
Information on the student’s condition was not immediately available from Evanston Hospital.
