Avisail Garcia left the WhiteSox-Mariners game after coming up lame while sprinting to first base on a second-inning groundout.
Garcia grabbed his right leg and limped past the bag, needing help from trainer Herm Schneider to exit the field. The Sox announced the injury was a right hamstring strain.
Garcia, who got picked off first in the first, was replaced by outfielder Trayce Thompson.
Garcia hit career-best .330 with 18 homers and 80 RBIs last season. He’s batting .225 this year.
The Sox led 7-0 after two innings. Their first seven batters reached safely against right-hander Mike Leake.
