“The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical” will launch its national tour in Chicago, it was announced Wednesday.
The rock-musical adaption of Rick Riordan’s best-selling novel, about a son of Poseidon who balances being a good kid and battling Greek gods, will run Jan. 8-13 at the Oriental Theatre, 24 W. Randolph St.
“The Lightning Thief,” directed by Stephen Brackett with choreography by Patrick McCollum, features music and lyrics by Rob Rokicki and a book by Joe Tracz. The tour is produced by Theaterworks USA.
The production had a limited New York run last year at the Lucille Lortel Theater; the original cast album was released in July.
Individual tickets for “The Lightning Thief” go on sale at a later date.
