The pedestrian killed Saturday in an intersection on the East Side of Aurora has been identified as a 37-year-old man who lived about a half-mile away, according to information provided by police.

Lorenzo I. Bryant, 37, of the 1000 block of Pheasant Run Lane, Aurora, was pronounced dead at the scene in the intersection of Ogden Avenue and Long Grove Drive, police said Tuesday on Facebook.

The DuPage County Coroner’s Office identified Bryant on Monday, Aurora police said.

A 19-year-old Aurora man was driving a 2013 Buick Regal westbound on Ogden with a 19-year-old woman also in the car when it struck Bryant, who was on foot, about 11:10 p.m. Saturday, according to police.

Responding officers found Bryant unconscious in the roadway, police said.

Police spokesman Dan Ferrelli said in an email Monday that police haven’t officially determined whether Bryant was in a crosswalk or where he was located on the street when he was hit. There weren’t any outward signs of alcohol or drug use, Ferrelli said.

Ferrelli said the driver was not taken into custody, and no charges or tickets have been issued as the investigation continues.

Police are asking anyone who saw the crash to call investigators at 630-256-5330.
