
Teresita Zaretsky is a member of the Franklin Park Manila Lions Club. She said she likes to get involved in the community and help others.
Q: Where did you grow up and go to school?
A: I was born and educated in the Philippines. I was born in Manila.
Q: When and why did you want to move to the United States?
A: I came in 1980. I have a son with special needs, and there weren’t a lot of facilities for him in the Philippines.
Q: How many kids do you have?
A: I have two kids.
Q: Where do you currently reside?
A: I live in Franklin Park.

Q: What activities are involved in within the community?
A: I’m a member of the Franklin Park Manila Lions Club. I belong to the Triton Community Horticulture Club. I’m a trustee for the Franklin Park Library. I am very active at St. Gertrude Church. It’s fun for me to meet a lot of people.
Q: Where do you work?
A: I am currently retired, but I worked for Northern Trust Bank. I was an administrative assistant to the head of HR of the bank.
Q: What are your future plans?
A: I’m still caring for my child with special needs. It’s very hard.
Q: What do you like the most about the springtime?
A: I like the tradition of St. Patrick’s Day. The Irish community is big in Chicago.
