Defender Justin Morrow has signed a new ‘multi-year’ contract extension with Toronto FC, the Canadian club announced Wednesday.

“Justin is one of the players who has led our turnaround as a club over the last few seasons. He has established himself as one of the best left backs in Major League Soccer,” said Senior Vice President of Soccer Operations and General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko.

“He has played such an important part in what we have accomplished as a club and will continue to as we compete for more championships.”

Morrow, 30, will start his fifth season with the reigning MLS champions. He has made 122 appearances since joining Toronto in 2014 from San Jose Earthquakes, and was named in the MLS Best XI in 2017.
