Trade deadline day began with the Blackhawks coach donning a Dunkin’ Donuts apron on Madison Street, a few blocks from his regular office at the United Center.
Quennville served coffee to unsuspecting, early morning customers and reminded them that their orders were “on the Blackhawks.”
Quenneville returned to his full-time job later Monday morning at MB Ice Arena, where the Hawks practiced for about an hour.
“Boy, that was brutal,” Quenneville said of his stint at Dunkin’.
Quenneville quickly returned to reality, though, when the Hawks traded forward Ryan Hartman and a fifth-round pick to the Predators for first- and fourth-round picks and Victor Edjsell, a 22-year-old forward who is 6-foot-5, 215 pounds.
