A 55-year-old Chicago woman was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Elm Street and Green Bay Road in Winnetka at 6:02 p.m. Feb. 20.
The woman was hit in the crosswalk at the northwest corner of the intersection as she attempted to cross Green Bay Road going east. Interim Police Chief Marc Hornstein said that the vehicle proceeded north as the traffic signal changed.
The woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to Evanston Hospital. The driver, a 62-year-old Glencoe man, was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a cross walk.
