A 29-year-old Yorkville man has been charged with aggravated drunk driving in a December crash that killed a 32-year-old Sheridan woman.
Yorkville police announced the charges against Bradley A. Anderson, 29, of Cotswold Drive, in a news release Thursday. The charges include two counts of class 2 felony aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, and two counts of class 4 felony aggravated driving under the influence. Days after the crash, he was cited for traffic violations including improper lane usage.
He was booked and released from the Kendall County jail Feb. 15, authorities said. Court records show his bail had been set at $50,000 with 10 percent to apply for bond.
Yorkville police said they started investigating the fatal, head-on crash at 8:41 p.m. Dec. 9. A 1999 Cadillac Deville driven by Anderson and 2011 Ford Fusion driven by Tina Turner, 32, of Sheridan, collided on Route 47 about 400 feet north of Galena Road, according to police.
Witnesses said the Cadillac was driving erratically and swerving before the crash, striking the Ford head-on, according to police.
Police said the impact killed Turner, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Neither driver had passengers.
Anderson is next to appear April 11 at the Kendall County courthouse in Yorkville. His lawyer, Naperville-based DUI attorney James M. Ryan, was in a meeting when a reporter called Thursday afternoon and did not immediately return a message left with his office.
